Prof S. B. Chaphekar, M.Sc., Ph.D., Urban Ecology & Biodiversity

A doctorate & respected academician in Botany and environment, Dr. Chaphekar is a recognized & well-known botanist. He has been a Faculty and head of botany department for the Pune University, Pondicherry University, Institute of Science, etc. Dr. Chaphekar has authored more than 80 publications & over 12 research reports on environment science. He has been awarded with fellowship by many prestigious educational institutes & environment organisations, including National Institute of Ecology, Academy of Environmental Biology, etc.
He has also managed various independent projects for many corporates, Government institutes & environment bodies on various environment issues at a national level.

Prof. (Mrs.) Prafulla Soni, M.Sc., Ph.D., Ecological Restoration

Dr. Prafulla Soni, a doctorate from Banaras Hindu University, bears a strong research experience of 40 years in the field of Ecology. She has made various contributions in the field of Restoration Ecology with 126 research papers and 4 books published under her name. Currently, she is working as Scientist G and Head (Ecology & Environment Division) at the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun. She has been honored with prestigious “ICFRE Award” by the Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, in appreciation of contributions in the field of Forest Conservation.
She served as a President at the Centre for Research on Ecology & Environmental Applications, Training and Education (CREATE), Dehradhun. Also,she was invited by the U.S. department of Interiors to present the work undertaken on restoration of mine spoils. The American Biographical Institute selected her as Women of the Year-2003.

Dr. C. S. Lattoo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Plant Taxonomy

Dr. Lattoo, a doctorate in botany, is India’s leading researcher in the area of plant taxonomy and plant identification, having spent 30 years in the field. He has worked on several environment projects including EIAs and Tree census for multiple organisations such as Nuclear Power Corporation, MITCON, AIC Watson, Government of Maharashtra, and University of Mumbai etc.
He has also been a consultant to several Indian and multinational companies and is active member of Friends of Trees, Bombay Natural History Society and WWF-India. His keen interest and expertise in botanical garden designing, forest based industries raw material development and eco-tourism development planning has won him several accolades in India.

Mr. Kishore Kavadia, M.Chem.Engg., M.B.A., Sustainability

Mr. Kishore Kavadia, an MBA in Operations management from Indira Gandhi National Open University; has rich experience of more than 30 years in the field of Environmental Management & Corporate Sustainability. Having worked in the field of sustainability in various cement manufacturing industries such as ACC limited and Gujrat Ambuja Cements limited, he holds significant expertise including the preparation of ISO 14001 certification, EIA reports, CDM projects and sustainability reports.
He has also been a visiting faculty in Environment Management at various institutes like N.M. Institute of Management Science, Mumbai & Welingkar Institute of Management Science, Mumbai and has conducted research on topics related to environmental management at various engineering and management institutions.

Dr. Monowar Alam Khalid, M.Sc, Ph.D., Wild Conservation

Having worked in India and UK and taught at some of the prestigious educational Institutes in our country such as TERI University and Amity School of Natural & Sustainable Development, Dr. MonowarAlam Khalid has vast knowledge and experience in Biodiversity Conservation. He holds an M.Sc, M. Phil and Ph.D in Zoology and has worked on various Wildlife & Biodiversity projects in many parts of India.
Dr. MonowarAlam Khalid has played a pivotal role in developing and registering the First Afforestation/Reforestation CDM project on small scale forestry for India and the world. He has also consulted on the assessment of World Heritage Sites Programme by UNESCO at Manas, Kaziranga, Nanda Devi and Keoladeo National Parks.

Mr. Madhusudan Hanumappa, M.A, PGD, Socio Economics

Mr. MadhusudanHanumappa specializes in socio-economic research and projects. He holds a Masters in Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environment Law. His vast understanding has led him to be part of various projects funded by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, National Highway Authority of India, Government of Gujarat, World Bank and many other esteemed organizations.
He has been involved in providing personal assistance in sponsoring destitute children and children from the poor classes in education, development and medical support. He also provide management and organization development support to new entrepreneurs in establishing NGOs and conducting community level activities in my available spare time as a social responsibility. Further, to this he has also conducted interactive sessions at various forums with industry players on Social Development, Community Engagement, Awareness & Development, Public Education & Awareness, Institutional Capacity & Training, Monitoring & Evaluation, Implementation Supervision, Building, Resettlement & Rehabilitation and Land Acquisition Plans.

Dr. Subrata Maity, M.Sc, Ph.D., Marine Ecology

Dr. Subrata Maity is recognized as a renowned Ecologist having expertise on Integrated Coasted Zone Management and Coastal Ecology restoration with Mangrove Conservation and Green Belt Development. He has published 3 books and 72 scientific articles in reputed journals.
He has been part of faculties with various Universities and Colleges all over India focusing on genetics, plant breeding, seed science and technology. Dr. Subrata Maity’s strengths lie in project formulation and evaluation of various industrial, infrastructure and R&D sectors. He has implemented large scale Mangrove Conservation and Ecology Restoration activities at different ports in India. Under the USSR Government Fellowship Programme he did his Post Doctoral Research on Plant Cell Fusion in Moscow.

Dr. S.R. Maley, M.Sc., Ph.D., Solid Waste Management

Dr. S.R. Maley, a doctorate in Agri. (Agronomy), has worked in the field of Agronomy and Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSW)for the past 39 years in senior management positions at various organisations such as Excel Industries Ltd., Lupin Laboratories, Hindustan Lever Ltd, J.N. Agri.University Jabalpur etc. He is known for his pioneer role in giving shape to MSW Management in India for over 20 years with complete exposer to feasible technologies under existing mixed MSW conditions in the country.
Among his various achievements some of them are that he has been accredited as an expert & resource person on MSW Projects in India and overseas since 1990 and has also been a Technical Committee Member of Supreme Court Task Force on IPNM under MOUD & PA – New Delhi. Internationally, he has been giving assistance and consultancy to various organizations such as Min. of Environment Fiji, Titan Group Paranague and manila city of Philippines, Wood Ward Clide in Philippines etc. Due to his immense contribution in the field of environment Dr. Maley has been awarded with Bharat Udyog Ratna by Indian Council for Economic Development, New Delhi.
